Oliver Sells QC, a practicing barrister, Recorder of the Crown Court (Central Criminal Court) and Master of the Bench at Inner Temple will be visiting St Andrews on Friday 3rd October.

Oliver Sells specialises in complex criminal cases (especially appellate work) involving fraud, extradition, money laundering and confiscation. His practice areas also include Judicial Review, Human Rights and Extradition Law. He is also a Member of the International Bar Association and a Member and Lecturer of the American Bar Association.

The evening will begin with drinks before a presentation where Oliver will discuss his career at the Bar, the different fields of Law and the difference in their practice areas, advocacy skills and the Inn of Courts. As Bencher of Inner Temple, Oliver will provide an insight into choosing an Inn, their differences and scholarship applications.

As both an advocate and a judge, Oliver can offer an invaluable perspective on good advocacy skills and tips for being effective and successful. 

The presentation will be followed by a Q&A and then dinner in St Andrews. Oliver will be playing golf on the Saturday and there is the opportunity for a limited number of students to join him!
