Norman Wisely is a partner based in CMS Cameron McKenna’s Aberdeen office, specialising in oil and gas law (in particular M&A).

He studied Law at the University of Dundee and is Dual qualified in Scotland, England and Wales. He is recommended in Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners.

In this informal presentation and Q&A, Norman will discuss the differences in Scottish and English Law, why he chose the Energy Sector and the lifestyle of a solicitor in a large, international firm.

Students from Dundee and Edinburgh Universities are warmly invited and we encourage St Andrews students to discuss with them what studying Law is actually like. Both Dundee and Edinburgh offer the condensed Senior Status Law Degree.

Norman has extensive experience in advising clients on oil and gas matters in the UK and internationally: working in Norway, UAE/Iraq, Russia, Trinidad and various countries and territories in Africa, Asia, Australasia and North and South America with clients such as BP, ConocoPhillips, SSE, Premier Oil, Apache Corporation, TAQA Bratani and EnQuest plc.
