Location: London and Oxford

Sponsored by Clifford Chance LLP, St Andrews will be sending teams to defend our ‘Winners’ title in the second annual contest against Oxford.

Last year, the inaugural contest was judged by High Court Judge, Mr. Justice Ross Cranston, and hosted by Professor Louise Gullifer, Harris Manchester College. Ten students travelled to Oxford; three teams and four observers.

On Friday we will visit a barristers’ Chambers, an Inn of Court and spend the afternoon with sponsors Clifford Chance.

The competition will take place on Saturday afternoon following lunch with Professor Louise Gullifer who will discuss studying Law at Oxford and the Senior Status route. The competition will be followed by drinks in Harris Manchester College and dinner in Oxford. Representatives from Clifford Chance and Norton Rose Fulbright will be in attendance – a good opportunity to discuss the working life of a solicitor.

This year we are delighted to offer students the chance to participate as a mooter or as an observer. No experience is necessary though we expect students to participate in mooting and advocacy events in Semester One. There will be numerous practice sessions and support on hand from the Mooting Committee.
